Q: Why should I care about the appearance of my parking lot?
A: The appearance of your parking lot sends a message to customers. A smoothed paved, crack and pothole-free driving surface shows you’re concerned about appearances as well as a customers safety. It also shows that you want to protect their vehicle from damage and help with proper traffic flow.

Q: How long will a new asphalt parking lot last?
A: With a properly installed asphalt parking lot, our customers can expect the asphalt surface to last 30 or more years with our proper maintenance program.

Q: Do you offer a warranty on your work?
A: All our work is covered for 1 Full year against all material defects and workmanship.

Q: What cause asphalt to fail?
A: Some of the main causes of asphalt failure include incompetent thickness of the pavement to support the traffic loads that travel across the pavement, lack of proper maintenance, and weak or unstable sub-grade components. Asphalt deteriorates when fine aggregates are worn away by weather and traffic, or when water is allowed to penetrate the aggregate base.

Q: Is asphalt an environmentally friendly product?
A: Asphalt is 100% recyclable. More than 80 million tons of asphalt pavements are recycled in the U.S. every year. This is more than the combined weight of all aluminum, glass, plastic and paper recycled annually.

Q: What is Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA)?
A: Hot Mix Asphalt is a combination of approximately 95% stone, sand, or gravel bound together by asphalt binder, a product of crude oil.

Q: How much does asphalt cost?
A: Every job is unique with regard to cost. Some of the primary variables include access to the jobsite, the amount of site preparation required, the size of the job and section (thickness) to be paved, and the job’s proximity to an asphalt plant. A responsible contractor will also consider such things as overhead restrictions, slope (both flat and steep), sub-grade conditions, and the proportion of machine versus hand placement square footage.

Q: After installation, how long should I wait to put vehicles on the new asphalt or sealant?
A: Typically overnight. You should expect some “scuffing” of the new surface, especially during the warmest months and in areas where vehicles are stopping and making sharp turns. These visual imperfections will disappear over time as the surface seasons and becomes less pliable.

Q: My pavement has some depressions that hold water; will sealer fix this?
A: No, pavement sealer will not fill depression or holes in the asphalt pavement. These types of repairs should be performed in advance using hot asphalt.
